Closed Mondays

Further information on special opening hours, admission prices, and how to get to the Städel Museum is available at www.staedelmuseum.de.

ADMISSION

The online ticket gives you priority admission to the museum, so you save yourself the time waiting in line at the cashier’s desk. It allows for a one-time entry to the museum for the date (and, if applicable, the time slot) stated on the ticket. It grants access to the Städel collection and all special exhibitions. The online ticket can be presented as a paper copy or scanned as a mobile ticket from the display of a smartphone.

ONLINE TICKETS AS PAPER COPIES

After purchasing your online ticket you will receive a PDF file for printout. You will furthermore receive an email with the ticket attached at the email address you specified during your order. When you buy several tickets, the attachment to your email will contain one PDF file per ticket.

All you need for printing your ticket is a regular printer. The ticket must be printed on DIN A4-size paper. A black and white printout suffices. There is no means of having your ticket printed out at the Städel Museum cashier’s desk.  Alternatively, you may want to present your online ticket on your smartphone. In this case, when you enter the museum, the barcode will be scanned directly from the display of your phone.

Please note: To avoid delays at the admissions control point, we kindly ask you to bring a separate printout for each individual ticket. Double printouts or photocopying of a ticket are pointless; every ticket will be scanned and the ticket will automatically be validated. Every barcode will be accepted only once at the admissions control point!

ONLINE TICKETS ON YOUR SMARTPHONE

Alternatively, you may want to purchase online tickets directly on your phone. If you wish to do so, simply access the ticket shop from your smartphone. The PDF file of the ticket you have purchased will be scanned from the display of your phone when you enter the museum; it is not necessary to present it as a paper copy.

LOSS OF THE TICKET

If you lose your ticket, you are not entitled to a replacement ticket or any other form of compensation.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

Please note that, once they have been purchased, online tickets cannot be exchanged or returned. The purchase of this type of admission ticket does not constitute a distance contract within the meaning of Section 312b of the German Civil Code.

PAYMENT

Payments are advance payments. Please select your preferred payment method: Electronic direct debit, credit card, or PayPal. Please note that electronic direct debit is only available for German bank accounts. Prices for tickets with or without guided tours are exempted from value-added tax in accordance with Sec. 4 No. 20a of the German Value-Added Tax Act (UStG). To ensure maximum security of the payment process and protection of your personal data, our online shop uses leading-edge security technology (SSL encryption).

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Online tickets will not be shipped by mail. You will only receive an electronic copy of your ticket: a PDF file you can either print out on paper or present on the display of your smartphone.

Please note: Due to current restrictions resulting from the Coronavirus, substantial delays in delivery are to be expected for items shipped to destinations outside Germany. Your orders will be processed and sent within a few business days. Please note, however, that the Museum Shop cannot influence the duration of transport.

Catalogues and booklets will be shipped with DHL and Hermes. Unfortunately, it is not possible to choose between the vendors. Within Germany, catalogues and booklets will usually be delivered within three to eight business days; delivery times to shipping addresses in other countries may vary. Posters cannot be shipped. When planning your order, we kindly ask you to take into account any delays that may be caused by bank holidays or especially busy times (e. g. Christmas).
