ABOUT THE EXHIBITION „BECOMING REMBRANDT“
Due to the international restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, in cooperation with our partner, the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, we have decided to change the dates of the exhibition “Becoming Rembrandt: Creativity and Competition in Amsterdam, ca. 1630–1655” at the Städel Museum. It will now be presented at the Städel Museum from 6 October 2021 to January 30 2022 (originally planned for 9 December 2020 to 5 April 2021). Prior to this, the exhibition will be – as planned – on view at the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa from 14 May to 6 September 2021. If you have a flex ticket for the exhibition „Becoming Rembrandt“, your ticket remains valid and is redeemable on any date during the exhibition.
The online ticket gives you priority admission to the museum, so you save yourself the time waiting in line at the cashier’s desk. It allows for a one-time entry to the museum for the date (and, if applicable, the time slot) stated on the ticket. It grants access to the Städel collection and all special exhibitions. The online ticket can be presented as a paper copy or scanned as a mobile ticket from the display of a smartphone.
ONLINE TICKETS AS PAPER COPIES
After purchasing your online ticket you will receive a PDF file for printout. You will furthermore receive an email with the ticket attached at the email address you specified during your order. When you buy several tickets, the attachment to your email will contain one PDF file per ticket.
All you need for printing your ticket is a regular printer. The ticket must be printed on DIN A4-size paper. A black and white printout suffices. There is no means of having your ticket printed out at the Städel Museum cashier’s desk. Alternatively, you may want to present your online ticket on your smartphone. In this case, when you enter the museum, the barcode will be scanned directly from the display of your phone.
Please note: To avoid delays at the admissions control point, we kindly ask you to bring a separate printout for each individual ticket. Double printouts or photocopying of a ticket are pointless; every ticket will be scanned and the ticket will automatically be validated. Every barcode will be accepted only once at the admissions control point!
FLEX TICKETS (EXCITEMENT TICKET)
In accordance with the regulations of the state government of Hesse, we are required to collect the contact information of all visitors. This also applies to those with Flextickets (such as our Excitement Ticket). Please contact our visitor services to register your visit in advance by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the requested date and time.
Registrations can be made Monday - Friday and no later than 10 am the day before your visit. Your registration is successful when you receive a personalized e-mail confirmation indicating your desired time slot and a link to the contact form.
We ask that you please fill out the form we have prepared with your contact details and present it upon entry at the museum. You can download the form here.
ONLINE TICKETS ON YOUR SMARTPHONE
Alternatively, you may want to purchase online tickets directly on your phone. If you wish to do so, simply access the ticket shop from your smartphone. The PDF file of the ticket you have purchased will be scanned from the display of your phone when you enter the museum; it is not necessary to present it as a paper copy.
