MUSEUM OPENING HOURS
Tue, Wed, Sat, Sun 10 am – 6 pm
Thu, Fri 10 am – 9 pm
Further information on special opening hours, admission prices, and how to get to the Städel Museum is available at www.staedelmuseum.de.
The online ticket gives you priority admission to the museum, so you save yourself the time waiting in line at the cashier's desk. It allows for a one-time entry to the museum for the date and time slot stated on the ticket. It grants access to the Städel collection and all special exhibitions. The online ticket can be presented as a paper copy or scanned as a mobile ticket from the display of a smartphone.
ONLINE TICKETS AS PAPER COPIES
After purchasing your online ticket you will receive a PDF file for printout. When you enter the museum, the barcode on your ticket will be scanned and the ticket will automatically be validated.
All you need for printing your ticket is a regular printer. The ticket must be printed on DIN A4-size paper. A black and white printout suffices. There is no means of having your ticket printed out at the Städel Museum cashier’s desk. You will furthermore receive an email with the ticket attached at the email address you specified during your order, in case you do not wish to print out the ticket at the time of purchase or do not have a printer at your disposal at that time. Alternatively, you may want to present your online ticket on your smartphone. In this case, when you enter the museum, the barcode will be scanned directly from the display of your phone.
Please note: To avoid delays at the admissions control point, we kindly ask you to bring a separate printout for each individual ticket. Double printouts or photocopying of a ticket are pointless; every barcode will be accepted only once at the admissions control point!
ONLINE TICKETS ON YOUR SMARTPHONE
Alternatively, you may want to purchase online tickets directly on your phone. If you wish to do so, simply access the ticket shop from your smartphone. The PDF file of the ticket you have purchased will be scanned from the display of your phone when you enter the museum; it must not be presented as a paper copy.
REDUCED ADMISSION PRICES
Pupils, university students, vocational trainees, unemployed persons, and visitors with a degree of disability of 50% or higher are eligible for admission at a reduced fee. Please note: Reduced-fee tickets can only be purchased at the Städel Museum cashier’s desk; they are not available in the online shop. Valid identification is required.
LOSS OF THE TICKET
If you lose your ticket, you are not entitled to a replacement ticket or any other form of compensation.
RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
Please note that, once they have been purchased, online tickets cannot be exchanged or returned. The purchase of this type of admission ticket does not constitute a distance contract within the meaning of Section 312b of the German Civil Code.
Admission is free for children under the age of 12. When accompanied by an adult, they receive a free ticket at the cashier's desk. Please also review the information in the „family ticket“ section.
The Städel Museum offers a family ticket for a reduced fee (24 instead of 28 euros at the cashier's desk). The family ticket is valid for two adult family members and at least one child or grandchild up to the age of 18. Please note: Family tickets can only be purchased at the Städel Museum cashier’s desk. Valid identification is required.
Tip: Families wishing to reserve tickets online can purchase two online tickets prior to their visit and will then receive free passes for their own children or grandchildren up to the age of 18 at the cashier's desk.
For visitors with limited mobility, the Städel Museum is accessible by way of a lift. The lift is located on the east side of the building (Dürerstrasse). Visitors with a degree of disability of 50 per cent or more are eligible for the reduced admission fee. If a “B” has been entered in the disability pass, admission is free for one accompanying person. Please note: Reduced-fee tickets can only be purchased at the Städel Museum cashier’s desk; they are not available in the online shop.
